Private Cloud

CSL’s private cloud offering (termed ‘Project Blackbox’) consists of CSL owned hardware and software kit solely dedicated to a single tenant on top of which CSL plugs managed services covering all the system up to and including the Operating Systems. The said kit is normally comprised of servers, storage subsystems, network switches, storage fabric switches, server load balancers and network firewall appliances. The infrastructure is built completely in compliance with the customer’s requirements and is hosted in one of CSL’s datacenters within Malta.

Private clouds are fully monitored and maintained by CSLs professional services arm with very tight SLA for resolution time.

Typical use-cases for private cloud offerings are:

• Production workload requiring dedicated resources due to resource intensive applications
• Production workload requiring specific hardware configurations such as:
  • Specific CPU chipsets (Intel or Power generations)
  • Specific I/O connectivity (ex. Dongles, RNGs)
• Legislation restrictions requiring physically dedicated systems

Workload on private cloud can consist of Virtual and Physical instances and as with any other CSL offering, such service can be used in a hybrid deployment whereby either 3^rd party cloud providers or shared cloud services from CSLs shared cloud can be connected for backup / DR purposes.

Private cloud (Cloud Services Malta) is priced based on a one-time setup charge and an on-going monthly fee dependent on the size of the cloud and its accompanying components. Normal deployment timeframe for Private cloud services is 2 weeks from date of contract signature.
